A genus of cichlids that originates from the Amazon river basin in South America. They are popular fish in the aquarium hobby due to their strange shape and vibrant colors, these guys are semi-aggressive and large so its best to do research on suitable tank mates. They are large and require larger tanks in order for them to be able to swim around comfortably. They do great in planted tank setups.
