Description: Symphysodom aequifasciata, commonly referred to as the Green Discus, is renowned for its vibrant green coloration adorned with red markings around the eyes and occasionally on the body. This species boasts a majestic appearance and is a prized addition to any aquarium.

Tank Requirements: A larger tank size is recommended for a group of Green Discus, preferably starting from 55 gallons to provide ample space for swimming and territory establishment. Dense vegetation, driftwood, and rocks can replicate their natural habitat, along with soft, sandy substrate.

Water Parameters: Maintain warm water temperatures ranging from 82°F to 88°F (28°C to 31°C) to support the physiological well-being of Green Discus. Aim for slightly acidic to neutral pH levels, ideally between 6.0 to 7.0. It's crucial to ensure excellent water quality with regular water changes and efficient filtration.

Compatibility: Green Discus are peaceful but can be territorial, especially during breeding periods. They are best kept with other peaceful tank mates that share similar water requirements, such as larger tetras, dwarf cichlids, and peaceful bottom dwellers like Corydoras catfish.
