Cuipid Cichlid Care Guide

Description: The Cuipid Cichlid, scientifically known as Biotodoma santarensis, is a captivating and charming species prized for its stunning appearance and peaceful demeanor. With its vibrant colors and graceful movements, this cichlid adds beauty and tranquility to any aquarium.

Behavior: Cuipid Cichlids are peaceful and sociable fish, often found in pairs or small groups swimming near the bottom of the aquarium. They are known for their gentle nature and can coexist peacefully with a variety of tank mates.

Tank Requirements: Provide a well-decorated aquarium with plenty of hiding spots and territories for the Cuipid Cichlid to explore and establish its territory. Offer caves, rocks, and driftwood as potential spawning sites, along with open swimming areas. A tank size of at least 30 gallons is suitable for a pair of these cichlids.

Water Parameters: Maintain stable and slightly acidic to neutral water conditions, with temperatures ranging from 72°F to 78°F (22°C to 26°C) and a pH level between 6.0 to 7.5. Ensure good water quality through regular water changes and efficient filtration.

Diet: Cuipid Cichlids are omnivorous and will accept a variety of foods, including high-quality pellets, flakes, and live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and chopped vegetables. Offer them a varied diet to ensure they receive essential nutrients for growth and health.

Compatibility: Cuipid Cichlids are generally peaceful and can coexist with a wide range of tank mates, including other small to medium-sized peaceful fish species that share similar water parameters. Avoid keeping them with aggressive or territorial fish that may harass or intimidate them.
