The Brush Shrimp (Atya scabra) is a unique freshwater filter feeder that uses fan-like appendages to catch microscopic food from the water. Growing up to 6 inches, these peaceful shrimp make an eye-catching addition to larger community aquariums with moderate to strong water flow.

Brush Shrimp thrive with plenty of perches, strong filtration, and stable water conditions. They are best kept with peaceful fish and invertebrates and should be drip acclimated before introduction.
Note: Due to their specialized larval stage, captive breeding is extremely rare, making most Brush Shrimp available in the hobby wild-collected.
